Alan Turing

Alan Turing was a British mathematician and logician who is considered the Father of Computer Science. He was highly influential in the development of artificial intelligence and created the Turing test: a way to examine a machine’s ability to think and act like a human. This test is based of the imitation game, in which a man and a woman are put into different rooms and asked to answer a set of questions from judges. The judges then must determine who is the woman and who is the man imitating the woman. Turing published his research in an article titled “Computing Machinery and Intelligence.” A new movie is going to be released soon about Alan Turing called The Imitation Game. It follows Alan Turing as he cracks Germany’s code during World War II, building the world’s first computer. It seems like a pretty interesting and suspenseful movie, and if that doesn’t convince you to watch it, remember that Benedict Cumberbatch is going to be starring as the main character.
